ABOUT CHRIS URQUHART
A life spent asking the questions that matter.
Former journalist and broadcaster. Communications trainer. Author. Chris Urquhart brings nearly 15 years inside Australian radio and television to every room he leads.
JOURNALIST & BROADCASTER / COMMUNICATIONS TRAINER / AUTHOR OF MAKING NEWS
BOTH SIDES OF THE INTERVIEW
From the newsroom to the training room.
Chris began in radio at 2Day FM before becoming a newsreader for Triple M, Nova and 2GB. His television career included Seven News, Nine News, A Current Affair, Today and ABC’s 7.30.
He reported across Australia and around the world—covering politics, breaking news, sport, entertainment, disasters and major public events. That experience built the editorial judgment, curiosity and calm under pressure that now underpin his training.

THE STORIES
From Parliament House and the Lindt Café siege to bushfires, droughts, police operations and international assignments.
THE LESSON
Clear communication matters most when the stakes are high, time is short and the questions cannot be controlled.

AUTHOR OF MAKING NEWS
Practical lessons from inside the media.
Published in 2021, Chris’s book distils the principles he teaches: understand the story, know your headline, prepare for difficult questions and communicate like a human being.
